PHS Chamber Choir to debut original composition at fall concert

On Tuesday, Oct. 22, Prairie High School will present “Sky Songs,” the school’s fall choir concert. The evening is headlined by the Chamber Choir’s world premiere performance of “I Wandered Lonely as a Cloud” by Portland composer Patrick Rooney. The song’s lyrics come from William Wordsworth’s most well known poem of the same name (originally written in 1804 and also commonly known as “Daffodils”).

Rooney, a graduate or Portland State University, has composed about 40 pieces of music to date and will be serving as a guest conductor for the song’s premier. Read more on the PHS blog

Since October is National Principals Month, we wanted to take the opportunity to get to know these two amazing people a little better by asking them a few questions.
