Focus on boundary changes

Daybreak Primary principal Matt Kauffman visits next year's new Dragons

Daybreak Primary principal Matt Kauffman visited the Pleasant Valley Primary campus earlier this week to eat lunch and shoot hoops with students who will be moving from PVP to Daybreak in the fall. Earlier this year, the BGPS Board of Directors approved boundary changes for Fall 2019 that will alleviate overcrowding in the district by shifting students to schools with empty classrooms.

While the group enjoyed pizza for lunch, the students had the opportunity to ask questions about their new school, and Mr. Kauffman gave the students their first "dragon scales." Daybreak students can earn dragon scales (which accumulate for a grade-level reward) for following the school's "Dragon Armor" behavior expectations.

Mr. Kauffman's lunch with the students is just one of the events planned around the district to help students get to know their new campuses and administrators before changing schools in the fall. See more photos on our Facebook page.
BGPS’ Board of Directors conducted a special meeting on Monday, March 18 and a regular board meeting on Monday, March 25. Highlights from these meetings are in this week's BG Board, Briefly. The next regular board meeting will be held on Monday, April 8 at 6 p.m. on the Lewisville campus.
