Introducing Parent Academy: online training for parents!

We are pleased to announce the launch of our Parent Academy, online classes specifically designed to help you navigate and understand the tools that your students will use during remote learning. The classes will be taught via Zoom by the district's own technology education trainers and coaches beginning Tuesday, Sept. 15.

The classes will focus on helping parents and guardians understand the curricula, technologies and instructional practices that our teachers use for instruction so that parents can help at home. Parents, check your email for more information, or visit the district's Remote Learning page at and click on the drop-down labeled Parent Academy.

Books and supplies distributed to students and families this week

It's been a MASSIVE undertaking to get books ready and delivered to students for this year. The library staff at BGHS and PHS prepared the books for each and every student based on their schedule, and bundled them together for students and families to come and collect. Families have been visiting campuses and driving through this week during designated times based on their grade level to pick up their books. Unfortunately, the poor air quality from the nearby wildfires necessitated pausing book distribution on Thursday, so please check with your school before arriving on campus to collect your books.

Thank you to our amazing staff for all of their hard work and attention to detail in getting books ready! Check out this image gallery on the PHS blog to see more photos.
