Battle Ground Public Schools gets clean audit

Battle Ground Public Schools has received a clean audit from the Washington State Auditor's Office. 

The audit examined the areas of accountability, financial statements, and federal grant compliance for the district's fiscal year from Sept. 1, 2018 to Aug. 31, 2019. It is the sixth consecutive clean audit for the district. Read more on the district website.
BGPS’ Board of Directors conducted a regular board meeting on Monday, March 9. Highlights from the meeting are in this week's BG Board, Briefly. The next regular board meeting will be held on Monday, March 23 at 6 p.m. on the Lewisville campus.

River HomeLink 7th grader reaches state GeoBee competition

The results are in, and River HomeLink 7th grader Sola Feldheger has been named as one of the semifinalists eligible to compete in the 2020 National Geographic GeoBee State Competition! The contest will be held at the University of Washington in Seattle on Friday, March 27.

“We are so proud of Sola for being selected to represent River HomeLink at the state GeoBee competition,” said River HomeLink teacher Kent Graham. “Learning about geography is more than just memorizing places on a map. It’s a basis for learning about the world and how its societies and cultures are interconnected.” Read more on River HomeLink's blog.

Tukes Valley Band Boosters raise funds for stage curtains at TVM

The new stage curtains at Tukes Valley Middle School have been installed, and last week, they made their concert debut! The curtains were purchased with funds raised by the TVM Band Boosters. Thank you to all of the parents and community members who donated funds and purchased fundraiser items to provide such a nice looking backdrop for concerts and performances at the school. A special thank you to our Band Booster parents and Band Director Mrs. Pierce for their hard work!

BGHS HOSA Club students get hands-on experience at University of Portland

The Battle Ground High School chapter of HOSA ( the health occupations students association) was presented with the opportunity to tour and participate in the simulation lab at the University of Portland. During this tour students were able to have hands on learning with wound care, blood pressure assessment, IV placement and medication delivery, and running a CPR simulation of a patient that was non responsive. Later during during the tour, students met with the admission team to learn what classes they needed to take during the high school journey to prepare them for the nursing program at the University of Portland. Census info coming soon - be sure that you and your family are counted!

The Census only happens once every 10 years, and it’s right around the corner! Watch your mailbox for information from the U.S. Census Bureau with directions on how to fill out the census online or by phone. It’s quick, it’s easy, and it helps ensure that our schools get the support they deserve.

The amount of funding our schools get is impacted by the results of the U.S. Census. Check out to learn more.
