Welcoming students back to school

It was a welcome sight this week as thousands of students returned to buildings across the district for the start of the 2021-22 school year. Spirits were high as teachers welcomed back "their kids" for another year. Students were met with eager staff and administrators, helping them to find their classrooms, giving tours of the building, and making sure everything went smoothly. Check out a fun video we put together featuring some of the sights from across the district during the first week back at school.

Denny Waters message to families

Battle Ground Public Schools Superintendent Denny Waters has a pledge for parents and families as he enters his first school year leading the district.

“I am committed to strengthening our relationship with you,” Waters said in his first video message to the community. “I want to improve communication, transparency and collaboration with all groups. You have my word, I will work tirelessly to earn your respect and trust, and I will always listen.”

Free breakfast and lunch for all students

The USDA has extended their free school lunch program through June 2022, meaning all students in the Battle Ground school district qualify to receive free breakfast and/or lunch throughout this school year.

Families should still apply for the Free or Reduced Meals program. Those who qualify can receive discounted fees on some school programs and extracurricular activities. Visit the district's Free and Reduced information page for details and to apply.
