Happy Holidays & Happy New Year!

With family and friends around or for a quiet moment of reflection, take a stroll in Gorges State Park to celebrate Yule & the winter solstice. As we celebrate the season, the Friends of Gorges State Park would like to wish each of you a very happy holidays!

As we bid 2022 goodbye, join us as we start 2023 in great spirits! On New Years Day join us for a First Day Hike lead by Superintendent Bischof to Bearwallow Falls - meet at the Bearwallow Picnic Area to start hiking at 10am. We hope you'll join us!

Not sure what to give this holiday season? Give the gift of support! Signing up your loved ones as members of FOG is a great way of showing support in their name. FOG has immediate openings on our board! Available now are board-at-large positions as well as a Treasurer position. Board members are passionate individuals who are looking to make a difference for Gorges State Park's present and future. Winter Hiking & Camping
As winter weather continues to roll in, so do outdoor recreational activities! With the proper gear and preparations, winter can be one of the best times of the year to enjoy the outdoors. From wider views peeking through the trees to less populated trails and facilities, there are huge benefits to enjoying the great outdoors over the winter. For more information on safe winter hiking, check out these quick tips for hiking in the wintertime.

Winter Holiday Hours & Closures
Gorges State Park will be closed on Sunday, December 25th. Additionally, the campground will be closed 24th and 25th, and Chestnut Mountain Road will close with hunting season (New Years) through March 15th for road work. Otherwise, the visitor center will continue with regular hours (9am-5pm), and the park will remain open 7am-7pm.
