FHS NEWS: Term 4

Update from

the Principal

Finally it would seem that spring is upon us – perhaps it was waiting for the total eclipse to take place (which many of our students were able to experience as part of Science Week).

Year 11 are of course really focussed on their GCSE exams, with the first English Language exam occurring at the beginning of May. Once again we are offering Saturday revision sessions, targeted after-school interventions, Easter School and Half Term School, therefore all Year 11 students should be staying after school and attending holiday sessions.

We have also introduced GCSEPod which provides students with the means of revising in any place at any time on a smartphone or handheld device.

Not only have we had an incredibly successful Science Week but we have also had an amazing Maths Week which included a considerable number of events and competitions.  Our team also came 7th in the Regional Final of the UK Maths Challenge, competing against many private schools; their conduct and intelligence impressed the judges and we are very proud of them.
