Welcome Fall

...and new work at Maine Fiberarts

Fiber In Form

Our exhibit, "Fiber in Form," is installed at Maine Fiberarts, 13 Main Street, Topsham, Maine, and is receiving many, many visitors! We are pleased to be open to the public once again and everyone has been wearing their masks. Thank you!

The show includes three-dimensional work by 25 Maine artists using an interesting array of techniques—coiling, quilting, felting, bookmaking, knitting, hooking, weaving and more. The show is on view September 1 – October 30, 2021 (Wednesday-Friday 11-3) and we are now open on Saturdays as well (11-2). Please come see and help spread the word!

The show was curated from the photos members supply to us of their artwork, so, members please, get images in to us. In fact, we'll be looking for holiday gift items to include with our next show and will be asking for articles once we create a form to capture your information. In the meantime, email images.

"Poppy Bowl," a felted work by Judith Daniels (with a detail) is now sold.

Details from C. Susan Ferraro's "Way of Life" masterful hooked work and Rana O'Conner's art quilt "Hope" about refugees. Beautiful work.

Above: Kirsti Sandoy's white felted "Pod" and a closeup view. Kris makes lovely felted wearables yet truly enjoys sculpture and has three pieces in this show.

Below: "Essence of Blue Fin Tuna" hand netted by Stephanie Crossman; "Dried Ferns" by Melanie West; "2020-21 Siege" by Ann Nemrow (also sold); "Yellow Wanderings" and "Deer Antler" (details) by Cheri Goguen.
