View this email in your browser
April was an exciting month for handwashing which included our reporting on hygiene The First Lady of Malawidiscussions at the World Water Forum in South Korea; hearing the First Ladies of Malawi and Madagascar speaking up for handwashing in Washington, D.C. (see image right); and having food safety as this year’s World Health Day theme.

This month we are delighted to bring you our quarterly handwashing research summary, as well as some resources that those responding to hygiene challenges after the Nepali earthquake may find useful.

As May 5 is the World Health Organization’s hand hygiene in healthcare awareness day, we are collaborating with WHO, the London School of Hygiene and Tropical Medicine, and others to bring you a free webinar discussing the state of hand hygiene in healthcare and new ideas for how to improve it around the world. We hope you will sign up and use #safeHANDS on social media.

Finally, we are getting ready to announce the Global Handwashing Day theme for 2015. If you have any final suggestions, please let us know by replying to this email!

Happy handwashing,

PPPHW Secretariat
