Once again, Danley Sound Labs will be present at InfoComm '18 in Las Vegas.  Come visit us at booth 670 on the show floor and in demo room N108 on even hours.  We will, as usual, introduce some new products.  We will also play some amazing demo tracks that will highlight Danley's stunning performance.

Danley is once again contributing to the educational program at InfoComm.  Doug Jones and Tom Danley will be presenting three different seminars:
June 5th 8 AM to 12 PM   “The Future of Horns”
June 5th 1-3 PM   "Maker Lab"  A maker lab is sort of a play space/workshop where the participants are given a box of “junk” and have 2 hours to build a working loudspeaker from the stuff in the box.
June 6th 10:30 to 12 PM   “Subjective Evaluation of Loudspeakers”
Make your plans to be there early.  Last year, each seminar was standing room only.

Danley Sound Labs is proud to announce that MacWest Group is our new rep team for southern California and southern Nevada.  MacWest Group ( is led by principal Steve McNeil, who has been a very well-respected salesman in the So Cal marketplace for over 25 years. The MacWest Group is a very technically driven sales team.  Each of the MacWest team members also performs several “tech activities” throughout the So Cal marketplace as engineers and technicians at local venues. Their office in Long Beach also houses a recording studio and a production service office as well as a demo product warehouse for the MacWest team.

DSP Functions – Parametric Equalizers

One of the more important features of any loudspeaker DSP processor is the equalization filters that are available for correction of the loudspeaker response. The DNA Pro series amplifiers and the DNA SC48 DSP have a nice array of parametric EQ’s that may be implemented for different purposes. 
Each input DSP features six fully parametric EQ filters. This means you can adjust the frequency from 10 Hz to 25.6KHz on all the filters. The bandwidth of the filters is adjustable from 0.102 Octave to 5.25 Octaves wide. The gain of the filters is adjustable from -15dB to +15dB. Of course, these six input parametric EQ filters are in addition to two low shelf filters and a high shelf filter. These input filters are generally not used by Danley’s loudspeaker presets and are available for use in tuning the system overall. 
Each output DSP features eight fully parametric EQ filters that have the same range as the input filters, plus another low shelf filter and another high shelf filter. The loudspeaker presets for the Danley Sound Labs loudspeakers use these output filters to create the prescribed equalization curve required for each loudspeaker, so some of these filters will be used by the preset recalled for the loudspeaker. 
One less well known feature of the output parametric EQ filters is the ability to switch any parametric EQ filter into an all-pass filter. The all-pass filter adjusts the phase of the signal without altering the magnitude response of the signal. To switch the filter from a parametric EQ to an all-pass, simply right-click on the filter’s number on the output EQ page. You will note that the gain adjustment is removed, but the filter’s bandwidth and frequency controls remain. These controls allow you to specify the width of the all pass filter and the frequency at which the center of the filter is located. 
Overall, this means that the audio path through the DSP section features 14 bands of parametric EQ, three low shelf filters and two high shelf filters. This provides an impressive amount of capability for processing the audio through the DNA Pro series amplifiers and in the DNA SC48.
