Footner noted Ms. Caruso’s lead in producing the now iconic BUS interactive sculpture highlights her collaborative leadership style. The complex project brought together Highlandtown community members with local sculptors and artists from Spain to design and build the popular Highlandtown Arts & Entertainment District landmark.

“I am looking forward to my new role directing this brilliant team. Creative Alliance’s vital work advancing Baltimore’s creative production, bridging cultural differences, and building community has never been more important,” states Caruso.

Before coming to the Creative Alliance, Ms. Caruso was the Director of the Doris Duke Theatre at the Honolulu Museum of Arts. She was also Assistant Editor and Assistant Photography Editor of the Washington Post Magazine, Public Programs Manager at The Walters Art Museum, an educator, and former poet-in-residence for Teachers and Writers in NYC.
