NBA+OGMP On the Road: Connecting Communities of Compassion and Care

NBA+OGMP On the Road: Overview
NBA+OGMP On the Road: Overview
In March, NBA and the OGMP went on the road. Watch the video above for our travels across America with GMP Rev. Terri Hord Owens, as we accompanied her on partner visits, special events, and conversations about Disciples health and social service ministries.
“The week has just been one long gift. Smaller churches are really taking the bull by the horns and saying, ‘we wanna do this and there’s no reason why we can’t do it.’ They’re inspiring churches of all sizes.”
- Rev.

NBA XPLOR Final Zoom call
For the past 10 months, the NBA has shared stories and videos from the 2017-18 NBA XPLOR Residents, and now it’s time for us to say goodbye. Our own staff took the opportunity to bid farewell in a recent Zoom call, where these young adults shared their accomplishments and enjoyed the contents of their care packages from XPLOR Director Rev. Bonnie Osei-Frimpong. We are grateful for their service to their host congregations and community engagement sites, and we look forward to welcoming the newest cohort!

NBA Stands with the
Poor People’s Campaign

NBA Stands with the Poor People’s Campaign
On Monday, May 14, 2018, the Poor People’s Campaign kicked off in Washington, D.C., and the NBA was there. Our NBA President and CEO, Mark D. Anderson, showed up to be in solidarity with more than 40 million Americans who subsist below the poverty line. The Poor People’s Campaign is designed to change the dominant narrative of poor people through non-violent civil disobedience in D.C. and across 40 states for 40 days. All are invited to share your involvement with the campaign using #NBAPPC!

This summer, the NBA will welcome our fifth cohort of NBA XPLOR Residents, and launch our next set of Peer-to-Peer Learning Groups.
These ministries of compassion and care are only possible with your support.
