  • Masks are strongly encouraged for everyone in light of the recent rise in COVID-19 infections and California’s mask mandate (places of worship are officially exempt).

Wednesday Nights

Join us Wednesday, January 12th to kick off the New Year with dinner from 5:30-6:30pm, Worship together from 6:30-7pm, and appropriate kids, youth and adult programs until 8pm!

For Our Children

Sunday School continues to be available for kids both at 9am and 11am worship gatherings. Kids will be invited to our classrooms after the time for Young Disciples. As we continue to follow Orange County Public Health Guidelines, masks will be worn inside classrooms for both kids and teachers. Email Janae Barker, Director of Children's Ministry, at with questions. 

For Our Youth

Sunday School - For all Middle and High School Youth - Youth are invited to come to the DEN after the Time For Young Disciples in the 11am worship hour.

Wednesday Night Youth Group for All Middle and High School Youth will begin on January 12th.

Prayer for the family of Stan Lintner who passed away on December 24th, for the family of Don Faircloth who passed away on January 3rd, Owen Razor (health issues), Sam Peters (bladder issues), Laurel Mauk (blood pressure problems), Guegher Froeber (Gigi Froeber's brother, hospitalized with two broken hips), Joshua Clarke (14 year-old grandson of Magaly Rodriguez, receiving father's stem cells for delicate operation), Jon Gatyas (prayer for healing), Harriet Pavidis (prayer for healing), Carol Davenport (health issues), Dave Sanford (kidney function), Dave Swidrak (hospice/inoperable throat cancer), Rob Saunders (continued healing), Cheryl Tafel (cancer diagnosis), Erick Ortega (recovering from surgery), Luke and Selena Ortega (newborn twins of Erick and Erin Ortega), Barbara Hedges (tongue and throat cancer). 

Precept Bible Study   

The next Precept Bible Study class is Zechariah beginning on January 12th, 2022 led by Talbot Jaeger. Class is held each Wednesday from 6:35-8pm in the Round Room #4. Cost of the workbook is $18. Contact Jack Knutzen at 562/596.3603 to get the workbook early enough to prepare for the first lesson.     

Cancer Support Group   

Good Shepherd Cancer Support resumes in the New Year on the 2nd Tuesday of the mouth, January 11th at 7pm on Zoom. All cancer patients and their caregivers, past and present, are encouraged to join our group for support and prayer. Faith at 4 (15)   

Join us on January 12th in the Sanctuary for the movie, "The Ultimate Gift". We will start promptly at 4:15pm, break for dinner, and then conclude the movie with discussion to follow. Harmony and Hymns with Mark and Peggy Malbon will meet on January 19th in the Choir Room.      

Senior Adults - PRIME TIME, 
Thursday, January 20th, 1pm   

"Live to Be Happy Healthy 100" with Diane Wood. Meet in the Fireside Room.     

Seniors - Gospel Sing-a-Long   

Gospel Night will be cancelled for January 21st due to the recent Covid strain. Plan to join us on February 18th at 6:30pm in the Fireside Room.    

Stephen Ministers 

Having a difficult emotional and/or spiritual time lately? Stephen Ministers at Good Shepherd are available to listen and pray with you as you share what is on your heart and mind during these stressful days. Stephen Ministers care. All care is confidential.
