Vacation Bible School Volunteers

All volunteers are encouraged to attend a pre-VBS meeting on Sunday, July 21st at 12 noon in Zirbel Hall. We will cover the basics of VBS week and pass out class schedules, name tags and tee-shirts.

Movie - "Greater"

Come see the incredible true story of the best "walk on" college football player, Brandon Burlsworth. On Sunday, August 4th, at 3pm see the role his faith played in his life and those around him.

Next Sunday, July 28th, bring your change to church! Helps support World Wide Missions. 

Summer Food Drive & Concert

GS Local Missions and We Care Summer Food Drive and Concert, provided by the Travis' for Don's 80th birthday (no gifts), will be held on Friday, August 2nd in Zirbel Hall, 7-9:30pm. Singer Dewey Erney and pianist Gerry Schroeder will bring songs from the Great American Song Book plus music of Gershwin, Porter, etc. Admission by food donations to We Care.


Good Shepherd Literary Women

Meets on Saturday, August 10th at 9:30am for a brunch at the home of Kathie Proctor, 20907 Harvest Ave., Lakewood. Contact Kathie at 714/928.4537 with questions.               

Women's Retreat

The women's retreat brochure will be available at the Women's Ministry table. Registration will begin August 4th. Plan to join us as we seek to be Anchored in HIM, November 1st - 3rd.              

Senior Adults

Day Trip

Join us on Thursday, September 5th from 8:45-4:30pm as we travel to the Los Angeles Museum of the Holocaust for a docent tour. Lunch will be on your own at the original Farmers Market. Cost: $30. Sign up at the Senior Adult table on the patio. Contact Carol Jaeger, Director of Senior Ministries, at with questions.


Susan Lachner will be returning with her musical talents on Wednesday, September 18th at 12 noon in Zirbel Hall. Tickets: $5. Sign up at the Senior Adult table.            

Serve in Love

S.H.I.P.  August 3rd-17th  

We will be taking signups for volunteers for dinner hosts, night hosts, and day hosts for the weekends. Stop by the table on the patio in between services and following the second service for the next four Sundays. Come see what S.H.I.P. is all about! 

Haiti Mission Trip  

The World Wide Mission Team would like to invite you to spend a week in Haiti, October 3rd-11th. Good Shepherd will be hosting missionaries Bev and Richard Felmey August 9th-16th, with involvement on Sunday, August 11th. Open Table will be supporting Haiti at the Tuesday night dinner with a program following on August 13th. Contact Carol Jaeger at with questions.  

Flower Calendar  

If you would like to provide flowers in the Sanctuary for worship in 2019, please stop by or call the church office to sign up. Dates available are September 15th, 22nd and October 13th, 20th, 27th.
