Staff Appreciation Month

We will be gathering notes of Thanks and Appreciation for Staff through October. Just drop your note in the basket at the registration/check-in table on any Sunday morning in October, or you are welcome to mail your note to Good Shepherd and they will be distributed to the Staff. We appreciate all the gifts our Staff brings!

Leadership Nominations

The open positions needed for Elder are: Children/Family Ministry, Membership, Mission Affinity and Worship. Deacon positions needed are: Memorial Receptions, Health, College Ministry and Home Communion. Please give prayerful consideration for someone you may wish to nominate (it can be yourself). Dinner & Conversation!

Women's Ministry has two Zoom events! Each night will start with a testimonial from one of our own GS ladies. There will be an opportunity to discuss the novel, The Red Tent, or have fellowship time with ladies. If you choose to participate in the book discussion, please read Part 2 by October 26th. Senior Adult Picnic Luncheon and Gospel Sing 

Bring your own chair, mask and lunch on Wednesday, October 21st, 12pm, at Rush Park. We'll meet at the southwest corner of the park for a time of devotion with Pastor Bryan, and a time of praise. Contact Carol Jaeger at with questions.

Grandparenting Matters Summit 2020 

If you were not able to catch the webinar "Finding Hope for Today" in September, we now have the three sessions available for you to view on our website. Click on the Vimeo link to find sessions one, two, and three and be encouraged as an "Intentional Christian Grandparent".

Good Shepherd Kids is continuing to stay on an online format! Welcome to Week 2 of October Kid's Church! If you have yet to get supplies and would like to get them, it is not too late! Please contact Janae at to have the supplies delivered!

For Our Youth

Monday at 2:30pm: Join our GS Youth Online Zoom Meetings for a time of connecting, playing games, laughing, and a short Bible study. Josh will send out a Zoom meeting link via text message ahead of time.

Thursdays from 5-6pm: Middle and High school meet at the Seal Beach Pier for a walk to decompress and connect with each other. Masks are required.

Changes to the above schedule are sent out by text message.  Email Josh Higgins at to be put on the contact list.

Youth Life Groups will be starting up in the fall. Groups will practice social distance guidelines as they learn what the Bible has to say about the tough times Jesus went through and how we can follow his example as we all face tough times together.

For Virginia Osmera and family on the passing of Hugh on September 29th, Pete Pavidis (hospitalized for further tests), Anna Abell (recovering from a fall), Robin Sharp (physical and emotional healing following a broken leg), Donna Livingston (recovering from knee surgery), Janis Lierer (cancer diagnosis), Margot Overholt (recovering from a stroke), Evie Anderson's Mom (recovering from a fall), Vonnie Lindgren (following hip surgery), Marilyn Austin (hip surgery, mother of Marsha Stanton), Pat Pearce (recovering from illness), Molly Isle (following surgery for a brain tumor), Joe Ryan (cancer treatments), Lorraine Porter (heart), LaRae Boone (cancer), Lamar Wall (declining health), and Ginney Elmgreen (currently responding to treatments). Prayer for essential workers and for strength. Prayer that during this difficult season, God would use us to draw new believers to a life of following Jesus. Marti's Closet 

Donations are needed of button-down blouses,(large, extra-large, or larger),
laundered, on hangers, and in good condition, for women recovering from cancer. Marti's
Closet will be accepting these items on the last Sunday of the month. There
will be a rack located outside of the gym, where the temperatures are taken. Contact Marti Johnson at 562596.8981 with questions.

Having a difficult emotional and/or spiritual time lately?
