Museum OPENS May 20th!

Interactive Exhibits and Makerspaces

The Westchester Children's Museum unveils 4,000 square feet of interactive, hands-on exhibits in the Boardwalk Galleries of the historic Rye Playland Bathhouses this month.  The vibrant, colorful galleries overlooking the boardwalk and the Long Island Sound feature exhibits that explore science, art, music, and nature, with places to build and play.  This marks the first phase of the museum's plan to develop its overall 22,000 square foot space.  Construction commences over the summer to increase exhibit space and and allow the museum to stay open year round.

As a special thank you to the community, we are offering a "pay-what-you-wish" admission policy all summer!  Click HERE for our daily hours of operation.

We welcome camp and school groups this summer!  Please call the museum office at (914) 421-5050 to make arrangements.  Sorry, we are not offering birthday parties at this time.

Featured Exhibit:  A Makerspace
One of the special features we're adding this summer is our very own "makerspace.”  An exciting new development in the museum field and early childhood education, makerspaces give children a place to build or take apart objects for the simple pleasure of figuring out how things work. Building materials will change from week to week, so keep visiting!
We are currently collecting supplies for the makerspace.  We accept donations of clean cardboard, mesh, tubing, pulleys, art supplies, computer keyboards, vintage household items, clock parts, and more!  For a full list of desired supplies, click HERE.
Additional Exhibits Include:
KEVA Planks
Build Your Own Roller Coaster-Sponsored by Con Edison.
Wind Tunnel
Art Walls & Windows
Electrical Circuits
Shadow & Light
