RIP Eoin Farrell
It is with great sadness that we learned of the death of our former club mate Eoin Farrell.
Eoin was a key member of Wellington/Hutt Valley GFHA between 2011 and 2014. Hailing from Athlone, Co Westmeath, Eoin brought an energy and enthusiasm that was felt by all associated with the club.
Whether it was on the playing pitch, on the committee, or during many of the additional activities associated with the club, you could rest assured that Eoin would be in the middle of it all; driving it forward and having fun.
Eoin travelled to Wellington with his wife Eimear and together they played a large role in the running of the club as well as on the playing fields across New Zealand. There wasn’t any task too large for Eoin to undertake and it was always completed with his trademark smile.
The outpouring of messages of condolences and shared memories over the last number of days shows the high regard in which he was and is held throughout the wider ex-Wellington/Hutt Valley GFHA community.
Eoin was a proud Westmeath man and served his parent club Maryland GAA, as well as Westmeath GAA, with distinction over many years. We were lucky to have shared a number of years with Eoin as a member of our club.
Our thoughts and prayers go out to Eimear and the Farrell and Murphy families on Eoin’s untimely passing. We are all thinking of you at this difficult time.
Ar dheis Dé go raibh a anam.

Eoin Farrell during his time at Wellington/Hutt Valley GFHA.
