Happy May! Spring is officially here, even if it may not feel like it. Here are highlights from May's Greener News:

Greenest Employer 2019 - U of T has been named among Canada's Greenest Employers for the sixth time.

Celebrate spring on campus -  You can tag your photos of spring with #UofTBlooms to be featured on U of T's digital channels. Pictured below are the budding and blooming magnolia trees outside of the Alumni House. Ever wonder about the roots behind the greenery around King's College Circle? This throwback article from U of T Magazine gives a glimpse into the landscape.

Clean up the Don: Chelsea Rochman’s U of T Trash Team is leading the annual “Clean Up The Don” event in collaboration with TRCA’s Paddle the Don on May 5. You can sign-up for one of the cleanup sites: EglintonET Seton ParkPottery RoadRiverdale ParkCorktown Commons.

This month's habit in focus: Spring clean, wherever you are. Remove leaves and debris from drains to help mitigate flooding, pick-up litter while on-the-go (join the plogging movement), or print less to reduce office clutter and waste.

Earth day is every day. Help support the Bottle Free Campus Initiative at U of T by packing reusables and take advantage of the over 280 publicly available water sources we have on campus. Catering a group lunch on St. George? Please remind others to refrain from ordering bottled water, or choose a campus Food Services vendor that is familiar with U of T practices.
