Happy Friday to one and all!

Good afternoon and thankyou for taking the time to open this newsletter - we hope it finds you well?
It's been an exciting few weeks here at The Matthew Project with positive news coming in about referrals, clients, staff, fundraising, current projects and future plans. So please grab a cuppa, find somewhere comfy and read more about it all below...

The highlights...
Please support this incredible 14 year old young man, who recently lost his mum due to substance related issues. He is showing his strength at a most difficult time, by choosing to fundraise for The Matthew Project to help others impacted by addiction.
He finds walking a real benefit as have those around him.
They will all join in a memorial walk on the 25th August 2020 at Wicken Fen National Trust and ask for your donations in a show of solidarity...
Listen to the interview above speaking on BBC Radio Norfolk about this event and the work that The Matthew Project offers to young people in similar situations

ACTIVITY PACKS: Being at home, with fun places to go closed and a global pandemic happening, this summer holiday is any child’s nightmare. That's why we wanted to offer the children we usually work with on a 1 to 1 basis, some positive activities to do at home
Throughout August we've been distributing 800 positive activity packs to 200 young people county wide that are affected by someone else’s substance misuse. Each young person will get 4 themed packs delivered to their homes by our Unity Team. The packs include; baking ingredients, growing your own food, arts/crafts activities and a some gifts including a letter to the children from former Norwich City Captain, Russell Martin
George, our staff member in charge of the packs, has made videos to accompany each theme. You can watch them here on YouTube!
More news for this week...
UNITY: Listen to this AWESOME video with Ellie our Unity Service & Data Manager on BBC Radio Norfolk. She talks about the #YouthWestSummerFest plus the important work the The Matthew Project Unity team do with young people across our fine county of Norfolk
NEXT STEPS: Across the road from Next Steps, is the Wharf Music Academy. It is in a medieval church that has been in need of some TLC, dare I say, for a while...
Next Steps won the contract to redecorate it ahead of its relaunch as a wedding venue and music school. This has been a huge job!
Members of Next Steps, under the leadership of our stoic and talented trustee Lorie Lain-Rogers have been hard at work. The transformation is amazing!
We have an exciting list of events planned in the run up to the end of the year. We will be releasing further information in due course, but you can pop the dates in your diary now...
