On July 2nd, the Reverend Duncan Lanum, age 77, Rector at St. Thomas the Apostle Anglican Church, started a 1500 mile bicycle ride from Santa Fe, New Mexico to Atlanta, Georgia to honor the memory of his beloved wife, Joy Rose Lanum and raise awareness and funds for Many Mothers.
Duncan and Joy were married for a short twelve years before her death on March 12, 2015.  Duncan calls Joy, “the love of my life” and it is his hope and goal that such a trip will inspire generous contributions to the Joy Rose Lanum Memorial Fund which will help the nonprofit Many Mothers continue to support mothers and babies as Joy would so lovingly desire.
Joy Lanum was an Obstetrics Nurse for her entire professional career spanning fifty years. For the last sixteen years of her life, Joy combined her skills as a Registered Nurse and lactation consultant with her unending love for babies by serving as an active volunteer for Many Mothers.

The board and staff at Many Mothers are incredibly appreciative of the support Joy provided to families during her years as a volunteer and the support that Duncan is providing to raise awareness and support in Joy's memory.
