PASSION FOR BRILLIANCE
October 2014

For 10 months we waited, it probably seemed much longer than that, but finally, it has arrived, it’s time to present the meaning of brilliance at “Sapphires in Symphony”.

Sapphire is recognized as a traditional gift for 45th, this precious blue gemstone is also known to bring joy, peace and beauty. The Sapphires now symbolize JCI Hong Kong Jayceettes' passion and dedication to serve the community over the years. The bonding of Jayceette members is like a symphony in an orchestra and on that night, the members joined together to make the celebration unforgettable.

On
Sunday, 19 October 2014, it was the banquet, but it was not just another typical anniversary, all Jayceettes played an important role in every aspect of the celebration like a symphony, from making a nostalgic history corner to creating beautiful table decorations, and from preparing an anniversary cake to singing and dancing performances. Of course, the banquet would not be successful without the best audience ever. We were honored to have Guest of Honor from the Liaison Office of the Central People's Government in the HKSAR and many distinguished guests from JCI level including Past National Presidents, TOYP Awardees, overseas guests and our very supportive local chapter friends.

The banquet is just only a snapshot of Jayceettes’ BRILLIANCE. The true BRILLIANCE is the shining efforts and commitments of members’ on leading and serving the community over the years. Sincere thanks once again to all Past Presidents, Senators, Senior Members, thanks to your strong BRILLIANT foundation to make us SHINE in 2014.

This anniversary will certainly serve as new motivation to spur younger members to greater heights of achievements and continuous success. With confidence, I believe the sparkling brilliance of JCI Hong Kong Jayceettes will last forever. Proud to be a member and your Chapter President, and I truly cherish this milestone forever and forever.

2014 President

A Glowing Night to Remember - "Sapphires in Symphony" on 19 October

JCI Hong Kong Jayceettes' 45th Anniversary "Sapphires in Symphony" was successfully held at the American Club Tai Tam on Sunday, 19 October 2014 with over 200 guests attending.

We walked down the memory lane of sweet happenings over the past 45 years with the honourable guest, Madam Liao Xun, Deputy Director-General Coordination Department, Liaison Office of the Central People's Government in the HKSAR (中央駐香港聯絡辦公室協調部廖勛副部長), old friends from partnering organisations, other JCI chapters as well as overseas buddies from JCI Manila, JCI Kaohsiung, JCI Yokohama and JCI Toyota, which marked the 45th Anniversary celebration a success with love and joy.

Every guest couldn’t help but tap their feet along with the alluring music of the eye-opening dance performances by Jayceettes Angels and professional tango dancers. The beautiful melody and voices of Jayceettes choir and string quartet lifted the spirit of all further.

The 19th 5-Star Training Camp on 26 October

Our director elect Vicki Chan had just graduated from the 5-star training camp, let's see how she felt about the experience:

Since I am the only one in Jayceettes who joined the camp, I am so afraid that it would be boring. However, I met many friends from different chapters. Because of our cooperation and team work, we finally won the champion in the camp. Moreover, President Carol came at night to show her support and even went to closing ceremony with Vice President Patrizia, which made me feel surprised and touched!

In the camp, we got to know our development and goals in JCIHK, especially the active citizen framework. Through the game and a night assignment, I gained a better understanding of the role of being active citizen and what issues we should concern and care. I hope we can use our power and contribution to make our world better.
