Do Do say, Do Do do!
The Secret of my President Chain

“With this chain on your neck, it symbolises a new chapter of your life.” I have strong faith. Yes, not only will I fulfill the role of presidency, I will also lead my team and make our 2017 Slogan into reality: Explore your Potential, Exude your Charisma (發掘個人潛能,綻放個性魅力).
Have you ever had a closer look at our president chain? She is magical and gorgeous.

This president chain symbolises the collective wisdom from our past presidents. Each name plate represents an intellectual female leader of my beloved chapter. Since 1969, many, many prominent and impactful projects have been successfully launched.

One of our prominent project in the 1970s was called the Earth Population Awareness Program which has a very mimicable slogan of “One is cute, Two is Ideal; Three is too much for the bill, Four breaks the family quilt; 一個嬌,兩個妙,三個吃不消,四個斷擔挑”, and it was soon adopted by The Family Planning Association as a slogan for family planning education program. How amazing and impactful, isn't it?

Hong Kong Jayceettes aims to pioneer thoughts and programme to facilitate our community. We have full confidence to bring forth new and creative projects every year. We always say, innovative ideas only come from leaders who aren’t afraid of thinking differently. And who aren’t afraid of leading differently. I believe, all of you have this potential.
Meeting with 2013 Care & Dare Ambassador Corinna Chamberlain, Red Swastika Society and board

My President Chain will be twinning with me for the whole year. We believe that with faith, dreams will come true - we set in motion opportunities that can change our own individual lives and will overcome obstacles. Flashing to Inaugural Ceremony, my chain mimicked to me, “Hi Do Do, welcome to being my new master of 2017, and the 48th anniversary of president of Hong Kong Jayceettes!"

The Do Do say, Do Do do is a monthly message from our President Do Do. Passionate and lively like our president herself, the messages take on interesting angles from talking to treasured inaimate objects such as her President Chain, to detailing the behind-the-scenes emotions of our President!
Our Inaugural Ceremony with 130 Guests

Like flowers blooming to reach their full potential, the 2017 Hong Kong Jayceettes Board of Directors led by their charismatic President Do Do So commenced the year by attaching pompoms to a ribbon, signifying a brand new Jayceettes year of connecting like-minded ladies to push boundaries and break barriers.
Held in the Grand Ballroom of Royal Plaza Hotel, Mongkok, more than 130 members, partners and overseas guests attended our Inaugural Ceremony on 8th January. A solemn and respected Installation of President Do Do and Board of Directors was carried out by JCI Hong Kong President Teresa Poon and Hong Kong Jayceettes Honorary Life President Jennifer Yu, witnessed by Hong Kong Jayceettes Past Presidents and National Assigned Executive Officer Steve Siu.
UN SDG Project Presentation, ASPAC Promotion by International Affairs, Limitless Asia -- A Leadership Development Project, and introduction of SNAPSHOTS and Jayceettes Charisma Hand Cream by our Public Relations Team.

In 2017, we hope you will Explore Your Potential, Exude Your Charisma!
JCI Hong Kong Inauguration-The Best Work of Life!

Our National Chapter, JCI Hong Kong, is an organization we look up to for directions and inspirations to be an active citizen! 19 of our members attended the JCI Hong Kong Inauguration to witness the monumental moment on 7th January.
The slogan for JCI Hong Kong this year is "Best Work of Life", a witty and highly inspirational phrase extracted from the JCI Creed. With a series of projects that engages active citizens to dedicate to serving the humanity, we are excited to be a part of this year's movement and events!
We also got the chance to interview JCI World President Dawn Hetzel and JCI VP Kongjoo Kim. Here is WP's view to our chapter slogan:

''What do you think makes a woman charismatic?''

"Being a woman naturally makes you charismatic! Don't be afraid to show who you are, and explore your leadership style!"

A very uplifting and confident message that celebrates our individuality, and encourages us to use our own unique ways to achieve a common goal of being the change-makers!
Jayceettes Eleven - A Splendid Trip to Remember in JCI Manila Induction Ceremony

One of the perks of being a JC is plenty of meaningful and fruitful travel opportunities. In the fabulous year of 2017, International Affairs Team will bring you to experience the amazing “I” of JCI – International, through different sister chapter visits and international conferences.
To kick-start the year, a record high of 11 Jayceettes attended our sister chapter - JCI Manila's Induction Ceremony from 20 to 22 January 2017. Thanks to JCI Manila brothers’ great hospitality, we attended both the induction ceremony and had yet again an amazing tour in JCI Manila's Club House ever since our last visit 11 years ago. Not only had we discussed potential collaboration opportunities on prominent projects, we also got to know each other better in person through spontaneous conversations on common social issues, cultural differences, and our personal lives.
Curious about JCI Manila? A recap and short introduction video will be out soon, stay tuned to the IA Discovery Channel!
Talents in Jayceettes - Give Your Best Shot! Publications Workshop

Did you know that our SNAPSHOTS has a slogan called "Give Your Best Shot"? Inspired by the Hong Kong Jayceettes' spirit of doing our best to achieve excellence, this workshop was held to equip participants with easy and useful marketing and graphic design tools!
On 24th January 2017, marketing guru and 2016 SNAPSHOTS Editor-in-chief Emily Wu as well as graphic designer and Community Development Officer Christina Ip delivered an uber useful workshop on using free online tools to create professional-looking advertorial layouts.

Using Adobe Photoshop, Christina shared the elements of design and made cropping out key objects from a picture seem easy! Emily also gave step-wise instructions on how to maneuver MailChimp, a practical campaign marketing tool. Participants were amazed at how user-friendly and instrumental the free online software can be!

Thanks to positive feedbacks, another Give Your Best Shot! Publications Workshop is on our agenda, stay tuned!
