BankUnited Gives Back through "Feels Like Home" Program

We send thanks to the BankUnited team who made a Project SAFE family’s day by giving back in a meaningful way to our “Feels Like Home” program.

The BankUnited team purchased toys, kitchenware, bedding, and more for Cassandra and her family to ensure they have an environment that “Feels Like Home.” “It was a pleasure participating in such a meaningful project,” shared Amy Rice, Vice President of BankUnited’s location in Palm Beach. “All of us at BankUnited are thankful for the meaningful work and services Adopt-A-Family provides right in our community. We are happy to support such a wonderful cause.”

Bank of America Celebrates Valentine's Day with Project Grow

(Bank of America volunteers pictured with Valentine's Day themed gift bags for all Project Grow students)

Special Valentine's Day thank you to our friends at Bank of America (BoA) who recently visited with our Project Grow afterschool students.

The BoA team presented to each of the three Grow classrooms on how banking relates directly to STEAM (science, technology, engineering, arts, and mathematics) as well as prepared Valentine's themed candy bags for each of our kids. Our students were interested in learning what it takes to become a banker, how to budget for buying a car, and how someone prepares for retirement (to name a few great questions for our visitors). Bank of America’s Nikki Morley shared about her experience participating in the project. Click to read more.

Adopt-A-Family CEO, Matt Constantine, featured in the Palm Beach Post

Thank you to the Palm Beach Post for featuring our CEO, Matt Constantine, in a recent Monday Meeting profile piece. We've included a paragraph from the feature below. To read a full-text version, click on the image above or link below.

What you tell young people about your business: That being able to help families is an incredible honor. People come to us at a time of need and it’s often not easy for the families we serve to reach out for help. They are vulnerable and anxious to get their lives back on track. For so many families it is just one incident, like a medical issue, that creates a cycle that leads them to homelessness. To see them get back on their feet, to be able to see a mother graduate from college, a family buy their own home, or a student get accepted to college are feelings that are indescribable. -Matt Constantine, CEO

Adopt-A-Family Recognizes the Mack Insurance Group Team

This February, we took the opportunity to formally acknowledge the Mack Insurance Group team, which selected Adopt-A-Family as their nonprofit community service partner for two consecutive years.

Adopt-A-Family's Layren Calvo added the following sentiment in recognition of Mack Insurance Group's efforts. "Irene Mack and the entire Mack Insurance Group team have gone above and beyond in making a difference for our families the past two years. They played instrumental roles in facilitating creative supply drives and consistently have displayed a willingness to give back to the families we serve. We are so grateful."

Thank you Mack Insurance!

AAF Community News: Movie Night on the Turf

On Friday, February 24th, our families gathered for the second "Movie Night on the Turf" of the year. The event, which continues to grow, has drawn more than 25 attendees for each of the two 2017 screenings thus far. Families enjoy pizza, popcorn, and refreshments while viewing a movie projected directly onto the building from the Project Grow green space. The next edition of Movie Night will include special appearances from Adopt-A-Family Board of Directors. We can't wait!
