The Honda Classic Cares Team Awards Project Grow $10,000
The Honda Classic Cares team presented AAF with a $10,000 grant in support of Project Grow.

We cannot thank The Honda Classic enough for their continued support of Project Grow. We are but one, of the MANY philanthropic efforts The Honda Classic Cares supports, year after year!

On July 12th, members of the tournament's grants committee, tournament leadership, and Executive Director, Ken Kennerly visited Adopt-A-Family for a check presentation and a tour of Project Grow. The group spent time reading with our students, as well as learned how Project Grow makes a difference in the lives of all 60 Project Grow afterschoolers. Their $10,000 charitable donation will support the program's summer camp programming - including educational field trips, STEAM projects/presentations, and general operating support.

Thank you #TheHondaClassicCares

The Harper Family - An Adopt-A-Family Success Story

The Harper family relocated to South Florida from New Jersey after Mr. Harper was offered a new job that he hoped would ensure a good life for himself, his wife, and their three young children. Upon arriving to Florida, he learned the position had been filled and the job was no longer available. With nowhere else to turn or go, the entire family moved into his grandparents 55+ community - a stay that was short-lived due to the fact the community did not allow children. Out of options, the family reached out to Adopt-A-Family staff at The Senator Philip D. Lewis Center. Click to read how our team made a difference.

Beautiful Little Free Library Installed at Lake Worth Campus

On Thursday, May 26th, the team from Lake Worth Little Free Libraries in partnership with Project Grow installed a brand-new "Little Free Library" on our Lake Worth Campus.

All are welcome to come "Take a book, leave a book" in support of literacy for our students. We hope you enjoy the photos that show the progression of the project.

Golf Committee Members Win Big for Adopt-A-Family: Advance to Nationals

Joe Carron and Gary Pohrer, members of Adopt-A-Family's Better Ball Invitational Golf Committee, recently participated in the AIG Regional Golf Invitational held at PGA National Resort and Spa on May 24th, 2016. Their foursome, playing on behalf of Celedinas Insurance Group, successfully won the regional event and $8,000 for Adopt-A-Family!

They advance to compete at Pebble Beach Golf Club on August 11th, 2016 for the overall championship and prize for their charity - Adopt-A-Family of the Palm Beaches! Huge thanks to this awesome crew of golfers.

We wish you the best of luck at nationals!

FPL & NextEra Energy Give Back to our Families in Need

Our friends from FPL/NextEra Energy recently prepared care baskets to benefit our formerly homeless families!

More than 230 employees from the company's Human Resources and Corporate Services team worked collaboratively in groups to put together meal baskets with items throughout their meeting room. It was quite the sight to see - and, went to our families most in need.

The teams even wrote encouraging and kind words to our families receiving the care baskets.  Thank you FPL for making our families smile! #FPLCares
