WRFC Annual Dinner and Dance

The Club dinner and dance was held in November and was a big success. The raffle raised over £1400 that will go towards the Club Legacy Fund. Thank you to all who organised and attended. Please keep an eye on the Westcliff Word for next years date...it promises to be bigger and better and in the new Club.
Senior Players Coach The Mini's

A few senior squad coaches and players spent a morning working with Minis, in addition, our head coach Chris Waring recently worked with our U14s. Keep an eye out for the next session with the seniors.
U7's at Saracens

U7’s had a brilliant day at the Saracens Work Rate and Honesty Festival. They played excellent rugby on the Allianz 4G pitch, met some of the Sarries stars and watched the Sarries Tigers game afterwards. Although I don’t know who was more star struck, the boys or Jethro (U7 coach).
The Lionesses

The Westcliff Lionesses returned to the Gables and made it 2 League wins on the bounce with a 61-10 victory over Dartfordians. The Lionesses couldn’t have asked for a better start when Susan Cripps scored in the corner in the first few minutes, this was to be the first of 5 tries for her on the day.

Captain Kay Edwards said on the win. “It was an outstanding team performance which as captain I am immensely proud of. A scoreline which is a testament to the hard work and dedication of all the players, coaches and support staff.”

Further tries from Alexis Roy and Loren Ware-Lane as well a double from both winger Charlotte Grant and Captain Kay Edwards secured the impressive win.

Head coach Glen Cripps was delighted with the performance, “All the hard work that the ladies have put in during training over the last few months has now started to show what a quality outfit they are.”

The Ladies wish everyone at the Club a very Happy Christmas & a great New Year and again, we thank you for taking us in and embracing us and having faith in us to succeed - it really means a lot.

Looking to get into Ladies Rugby? The Lionesses train at Westcliff Rugby Club Monday’s and Thursday’s, 7.00-8.30pm.
The 500 Club at Westcliff RFC
Four times a year, winning tickets are drawn and participants have the opportunity of both winning cash prizes of up to £500 and helping our Club. Around 50% of all proceeds to the 500 Club is paid out directly in cash prizes and the balance goes directly towards the facilities and benefits offered by our Club.

1st Prize £500, 2nd £250, 3rd £100, 4th £50, 5th £25 with draws on a quarterly basis mean that you could have four chances each year of winning a monster £500 prize!

So come and join us. The minimum investment is ONLY £5 per month for which you will have 5 tickets & you too could win one of the big cash prizes and also contribute to the progress of WRFC. Don’t feel that you have to restrict yourself to £5 per month – larger sums will give you an even better chance of winning.

All we ask is that you create a monthly bank standing order to:
Westcliff RFC 500 Club at TSB Bank, Sort Code 30-94-26, Account Number 16597568

Winning tickets are always drawn by independent non-members and witnessed by other non-members. Contact Dave Shear for more details click here.
