Butler and USF

May is a very busy month at ILISA, a month in which we usually receive multiple university groups from the USA. At the moment we have the pleasure of having two groups with us, Butler University and the University of South Florida. They have been enjoying weekend trips, cultural activities and Spanish classes! This program is designed to give the students the ultimate immersion experience during they stay in Costa Rica.

Summer Program!

The Summer Program of ILISA started this week and we currently have students participating in the program.  Students who want to join the Summer Program can enroll for four or twelve weeks. There are various cultural activities and weekend trips included in the price, giving the students a full immersion experience!

Some girls who are currently here found out about the program through their Study Abroad Adviser. They had the opportunity to choose between various countries but in the end they choose Costa Rica because of the recommendation of a student that was with us last year. They have enjoyed every aspect of the experience so far, especially the homestay and the classes.

Fall in love with San Jose!

Enamorate de tu ciudad or Fall in love with your city is a year-long celebration of art, culture and urban parks. Every Saturday from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. the parks in down town San Jose are buzzing with a great variety of activities, for you to fully enjoy the nature, architecture and culture in the parks. All entrances are free!
The program includes workshops of constructive visual arts, all types of dances, sports, music, presentations, exhibitions and fairs. Besides this variety, regular surprise performances will be held!
More information can be found on the website.

Art city tour

The Art City Tour is a great way to explore San Jose's museums and cultural venues for free! May 14 was the latest edition in which ILISA took her students for a night out. We visited the newly re-opened Jade Museum, the Costa Rican Art Museum and the National Museum of Costa Rica. Transportation between the museums is very convenient, since free shuttle buses are arranged! The next editions will be July 16, September 17 and November 21. For regular updates on where we take our students, please follow us on Facebook or take a look at our website.

‘’I love my instructor and the great sense of community, this is a great place and I am very happy to be a part of it.’’
Elisa Jauregui

ILISA Labour Day

The first of May was Día de los Trabajadores. All teachers and staff enjoyed a great day in beautiful San Ramón, dangling from ropes in the rainforest, rappelling from waterfalls, acting like superman high in the air and relaxing at the pool. Is this your ideal daytrip? We organize great adventurous tours for thrill seekers, like ziplining and wild water rafting, as well as more peaceful ways to enjoy your surroundings with the aerial tram and island boat tours! Visit our website for more information.
