Student Sweeps Awards
Missouri State senior Public Relations major, Elijah Kleinsmith, was recently awarded two university awards, Student Worker of the Year and Outstanding Student Employee.
Mr. Elijah Kleinsmith was nominated for Missouri State University Student Worker of the Year by Ms. Laura Kyle, Medical Records Coordinator of Taylor Health and Wellness Center. On April 13, 2015, Elijah received this prestigious award. Elijah has worked for Taylor Health and Wellness Center since September 2011. Taylor Health's student workers are an integral part of the clinic's operation. Staff teach these students to help provide the best service to patients. We, as a division, are particularly happy when the hard work of our students are acknowledged. Elijah has learned how to handle difficult patients with diplomacy and tact. He finds answers to numerous questions, knows what can and cannot be disclosed to patients and parents, makes appointments, and helps out wherever he is needed. In addition, Elijah was also the recipient of an award at the annual STAR Awards Banquet. On April 28, 2015 Elijah was announced as the Outstanding Student Employee. The Outstanding Student Employee Award was sponsored by the Office of Student Employment and presented by Cheryl Combs and Danielle Walcher. We want to congratulate Elijah on his well-deserved award and accomplishments!

National Student Employment Week
    "And the winner is!"
In early April, the Office of Student Employment at Missouri State University promoted and partook in National Student Employment Week. This week recognizes student employees throughout the university for all their hard work and dedication. Offices and departments were encouraged to plan socials and events to honor and thank their student employees. One favorite event occurring during National Student Employment Month continues to be the Office Decorating Contest. This friendly competition encouraged various offices around campus to decorate their office space to highlight their student employees. This year, the Office of Student Affairs utilized a unique superhero theme to promote the hard work of their students. As a result of their win, the office will display a trophy until next year. Congratulations to the Office of Student Affairs and a big thank-you to all Missouri State University student-employees!
