We've had an incredible year this year . . . serving 70-80 under-resourced youth weekly with quality academic programs, enrichment workshops like healthy eating and arts exploration, and evening groups focused on character and faith formation. Our teen leaders celebrated the completion of the Ninos Park soccer field renovation this year, and GreenHouse parent leaders hosted community-wide events that served over 500 youth and parents.
We now have 40 youth each month attending our evening youth groups!
Parents are involved like never before. One of our GreenHouse "grads" received a full-ride scholarship to UC Irvine.
It's an exciting time to partner with The GreenHouse.
From our year-end letter:"It’s also been a year of celebrating achievements years in the making; like the new soccer field at Niños Park. The renovated field was the result of a three-year advocacy effort by our teens in our 'Leaders in Training' program, and represents a $180,000 investment by the City of Sacramento into the well-being of the neighborhood."
(see video to hear more about the changes)
The lives of youth and parents are being transformed and the neighborhood itself is undergoing transformation, as a result of teen and parent leadership. We are seeing a new generation of youth and parents
take a stand for their community.
We are looking forward to a 2015 that's focused on new pathways to support our high school juniors and seniors in college & career readiness, deeper faith formation and character formation of teens and pre-teens, new educational gardens for the community's use, and expanded investment
in parent and teen leadership development.
Please join us to help finish off 2014 strong,
and to lay a good foundation for The GreenHouse in 2015.
