Falling in Love with Reading!
The GreenHouse kids and teens have had another amazing Fall in the Evergreen and R2 afterschool programs.  In our Reading Intensive Program, our elementary students contribute one marble to our reading jar for every book read.  Our reading jar is almost full--as a group, our elementary school students have read nearly 150 books since mid-September!

The GreenHouse kids have also been reading through a chapter book on “Charlie and the Chocolate Factory” this Fall.  We’ve made great progress reading through the book together.  The kids were excited to see the book come to life through chocolate tastings, where they were able to taste, see, and write about different types of chocolates.

Some of our 4th through 6th grades boys have also started reading the book “My Side of the Mountain” through an informal book club organized by one of our staff.  They have enjoyed a strong sense of community and learning, and have been eager to meet.  Our staff has had one of the boys come up to him and tell him, “We should do that again!”

We Have Much to Be Thankful For . . .
We are thankful for the many community volunteers who worked alongside GreenHouse parents to make our annual Harvest Carnival a great success again this year.  Over 250 neighborhood youth and parents participated.

We are thankful for all those who are thoughtfully and lovingly purchasing Christmas gifts for over 230 neighborhood children this season.

We are thankful for our 55 weekly volunteers who love and serve neighborhood youth with dedication and open hearts.  YOU are the backbone of The GreenHouse,
and this is a stronger community because of your gifts and talents.

We are thankful for strong parent and teen leaders who invest their time, leadership, and vision to making this a better neighborhood for ALL families,
of ALL cultures, and ALL backgrounds.

We are thankful for the forty-five youth ages 10-18 who come regularly
to our evening faith programs.

We are thankful for YOU and for your partnership;  for your prayers and for your ongoing care for young people and families in this neighborhood.
We are all part of The GreenHouse family!

It's Time to Break Out Your "Wrap" Skills!!
Friday Night December 11th, 6- 8:30 pm, GreenHouse Clubhouse
Wrapping Party - 708 Northfield Dr. 95833

Join GreenHouse parents and staff for an evening of fun, pizza, and gift-wrapping!  This is a great chance to work side-by-side with parents from the community on something that directly benefits youth.   We need your help to wrap the more than 230 gifts for neighborhood children.
Arrive when you can and stay for as long as you're able.

Please contact Volunteer Coordinator Josiah Gorter at josiah if you're able to help us out!
