Meet Korean Egg Buyers in Seoul—March 23

Dear U.S. Egg Industry:

We invite you to participate in a series of one-on-one meetings on March 23rd in conjunction with USAPEEC’s Strategic Planning Conference in Seoul. 27 Korean companies could be included as part of the meetings; their company profiles are available here.

Following are overviews of the larger companies.

Shinsegae Food: Representing Day N Day, Milk & Honey, Starbucks, Dean & Deluca, etc., Shinsegae Food is a major foodservice and bakery operator in Korea. It has a retail division, E Mart (biggest hypermarket chain in Korea with 151 stores nationwide). E Mart Everyday (supermarket chain with 160 stores nationwide), With Me (convenience store with 80 stores nationwide).

Ourhome: Part of LG Group, Ourhome is the largest mass catering & food distribution company in Korea, which also has a bakery division, foodservice division, as well as a food manufacturing division. The company’s mass catering division supplies meals to 1 million people a day, and its bakery division supplies bread and pastry products to its 25+ restaurant brands, mass catering operations, and other foodservice players.  

CJ Foodville: Part of CJ Group, CJ Foodville is the largest food company in Korea. Its foodservice division has 25+ restaurant chain brands and 2 bakery chains, which are Tous les Jours (2nd biggest bakery chain in Korea with 2,000 stores nationwide) and Two Some Place (bakery café chain with 750 stores nationwide).

Hyundai Green Food: Part of Hyundai Group, it has multiple food-related divisions including bakery, mass catering, foodservice, as well as food distribution. Its mass catering division offers 700,000 people’s portion per day, and the bakery division also supplies baked goods to the mass catering operations.

Samsong Bakery: It is a rising bakery chain, started from Daegu and gaining popularity from its old-school style baked goods.  The chain has 30 stores nationwide currently, and the number of stores is growing fast.

CJ Cheiljedang:  Largest food manufacturer in Korea

Pulmuone: 2nd largest food manufacturer in Korea

Daewang Custard: Taiwanese custard shops are currently very trendy in Korea. Additionally, these shops consume significant volumes of eggs. There are various levels of Taiwanese custard stores-- from very high- end independent shops to small-sized neighborhood shops. Among them, Daewang Custard is the largest chain brand in this category with 240 stores nationwide.
