Q&A with a Cannonballer: heeeere's bonnie!
How many times have you participated in CBR?
This is my fourth CBR (I started with CBR5). I’ve actually been a lurker on Pajiba for the last ten years (I read a lot of the posts, but my commenting is infrequent at best) so I remember CBR1 between Prisco and AlabamaPink. Though she and I never had any interaction, I was devastated to learn of her death. I always enjoyed the CBR posts, but it took me until after 4 to sign up for CBR5. I enjoyed it so much that I convinced my husband to sign up for CBR6 and now he's a regular Cannonballer, too! It’s been an absolute joy, and it’s expanded my own reading world.

#CannonBookClub: The Count of Monte Cristo
A whopping number of pages led to a whopping number of comments from our brilliant commentariat. Thank you all for a lively discussion, and for diving in to the book clubs so enthusiastically this year. Next year should be equally thought-provoking. Keep reading for more info!

Best/worst picks
We agree, Neil - five is too difficult, and favorites of all time is overwhelming. That's why we're only asking Cannonballers to pick the three best books you read in 2016, and the one worst, and send them (and the links to your reviews) to MsWas by email or the contact form by December 22. They do not have to be new books, published in 2016 - just any books you read and reviewed this year. It's always interesting to see which ones make everybody's list, and which ones (eep!) make both. Plus, it's a good way to entice newbies! One of us...one of us... registration is open...
The end of Cannonball Read 8

CBR8 ends at noon on New Year's Eve (12/31/2016, 12:00 p.m. EST). The site will be down for the rest of the day, and then will rise phoenix-like on January 1 for CBR9. Any reviews not posted before the deadline will count towards CBR9 instead. You can register now, but still keep posting reviews toward your CBR8 goal. Don't forget to update the Leaderboard so you get credit for everything.
Cannonball Read 9 begins!
Cannonball Read 9 starts on January 1! Y'all ready for this? *insert funky dance beat* Registration is open right now, and stays open until January 13, so you have loads of time to decide how ambitious you're feeling, or try and cajole friends and family into signing up.
If you're a returning Cannonballer, go to your profile and update your CBR9 goal (if it's blank, you're not officially on the list for CBR9) and your contact info. New this year: fill out your bio and post a profile picture! Remember that you log in with the email address you signed up with - not a separate username or Pajiba nickname.
Going forward, please remember to use tags and categories thoughtfully - select one genre/category and tag the author's name. Our goal is to have NO uncategorized reviews next year. It helps keeps things organized for future readers, fellow reviewers, and MsWas. If you're unsure about anything, check out our comprehensive FAQ section.

Thank you all for participating and reading, and especially thanks to our loyal and brilliant team of volunteers!
