2014 Warrior Beach Week will take place September 2-7, in Bethany Beach, Delaware.

July 4th is Coming

On July 3rd from 5:30-7PM the National Guard Army Show Band will play patriotic music at the Bethany Bandstand. There will be a campfire on the beach following the performance. Operation SEAs the Day volunteers will be selling our merchandise from 5-8 PM so stop by and buy and pick up some patriotic gear and support our wounded warriors and their families.

The Independence Day festivities kick off at noon with the big parade down and around Bethany Beach. There will be dozens of colorful floats and hundreds of participants from local organizations and businesses. Bands will be playing and we will celebrate our country’s independence in this festive atmosphere.
Operation SEAs the Day will proudly participate with its WARRIOR float as we continue to honor the many brave men and women who have and who continue to serve and sacrifice to preserve our independence. Come early and get a good seat along the parade route.

There will be contests and activities on the beach during the day leading up to the spectacular fireworks at dusk. Don’t miss it.

Honoring the Memory of Scott Maxwell

All of us at Operation Seas the Day would like to honor the memory of Scott Maxwell who tragically died in an accident May 16, 2014 . We express our sincerest condolences to Scott’s parents Bob and Linda Maxwell and thank them for their request that donations be made to Operation SEAs the Day. We also thank all who have donated to honor Scott's life.

Volunteer Opportunities

The summer is here and as Warrior Beach Week approaches, we'll need to tap into our community to help make Operation SEAs the Day a success!  A great way to get involved is by volunteering to help out throughout the summer and during the week our warriors are in town.  We'll be promoting volunteer opportunities through this e-newsletter (see below) and on our brand new Volunteer Interest page. Check it out to learn more.

>Left, Left, Left Right Left!
Who would like to march alongside The Warrior during the Bethany Beach July 4th Parade? What's The Warrior? It is a ten foot high mega-vehicle that the wonderful Bethany Beach Fire Department is allowing us to cover with our banners and be part of this year's parade. We need volunteers to line up on either side and behind it as we proudly show our support of Operation SEAs the Day. Required: you must wear an Operation SEAs the Day hat or tee shirt. If you don't already have some sort of OSTD merchandise, run over to the Sea Colony Beach Shoppe (in the Marketplace) this week and buy one if you want to live the dream of being in a parade! Volunteers should be lined up and ready to go at 11:45AM at the intersection of Route One and Central Avenue. See you there!

Poster Pal Project

We're excited to announce the launch of the Poster Pal Project, as a way to connect families visiting Bethany throughout the summer to Operation SEAs the Day. We'll be setting up poster-making stations at various locations the summer where residents and visitors can stop by to decorate their own welcome sign for our warrior VIFs (Very Important Families).  These signs will be put up the morning of September 2nd on the road leading to the VFW as the warrior families arrive in town and will again be used at Freeman Stage on the September 5th.

Our very first poster-making station will be set-up the morning on July 4th, inside the white picket fence near the Bethany Beach playground and basketball courts. Stay tuned on Facebook and Twitter for more details on Poster Pal Project! We'll also need volunteers throughout the summer to help coordinate and assist with our poster-making stations.

SHOW YOUR SPIRIT!!! If anyone is interested in purchasing an official OSTD 3x5 flag (which can be used year after year) we have a limited number available for purchase. We are offering them at our cost...only $63 each! If interested please contact Diane Pohanka at 571-338-4303.
