I loved to see God at work. For the past handful of months, we asked you to pray about getting a vehicle for The Refuge. At first it seemed like just a good idea or a dream even, but as the months went by God started to put the pieces together.
August 6th, 2019. God blessed us with a van.
We had some amazing donations along the way to make this happen. God certainly moved in the hearts of many people!
The final piece was a major blessing from the Sunbury Area Community Foundation with The Mertz Fund. We also have to say a huge thank you to Tom Mertz and Sunbury Motors.
To be transparent, The Refuge covered $14,000 from donations, while the rest was picked up by the folks mentioned above.
Thank again to the donors who responded to this big idea... You blessed us in such a huge way. Dream Big. Watch God Work!
The new van... next will be getting The Refuge on the side!
We remember Lois Lark. Her passing from ALS was a sad day. Lois generously gave to The Refuge and even choose to direct memorial funds to us in her passing. What a blessing she was to us.
We know she is having a feast in heaven (Lois loved food....)!
Enjoying a lot of Catan this summer!
Help Stock Our Pantry
One of the most visited and used components of The Refuge is our pantry. The pantry is used as a reward system for the kids.
They can earn points for doing their homework, bringing friends, and doing work in the building.
The point are then spent on food, hygiene, school supplies, and other items.
We are looking for regular supplies to keep our pantry stocked. Maybe your church or buisness could collect some things for us on a monthly basis?
End of each month is BIRTHDAY TIME!
We are looking for smalls teams to complete some projects with the building:
Enclose basement breezeway to expand wood shop storage
Sand and repaint stairway to 2nd floor.
Spring Clean the building and property
We are always looking for help with our kitchen. Food prep and donations.
Be sure to follow @sunburyrefuge on Instagram and Facebook. We have lots of photo updates there.
