A Weekly Poetry Email Series

About the Poet: Kate Marshall Flaherty

Kate Marshall Flaherty has read in Cobourg quite a few times, and loves the venues, poets and people of Cobourg. Kate has been enjoying writing spontaneous poetry for folks all through Covid. She calls these "Poems Of the Extraordinary Moment" or "p.o.e.m.s," and hopes to write on-the-spot poems in Cobourg some day. She has five books of poetry, guides StillPoint Writing workshops on line and is happy to share this poem "Digging" that was long-listed for the 2021 Mitchell Prize for Poetry. She loves to collaborate with artists and musicians; you can see her performance poetry on her website:

Poetry in Community

Since January 2021, we've been working on creating an evolving eChapbook. This has been a dynamic community project. Each month offers a new prompt. Feel free to submit a poem based on any of the months. Click here to read more. You only have November and December left to submit your poems! Then we will look for a way to turn this work into a book!
