About the Poet: Dorothy Sjöholm

Dorothy Sjöholm’s stories and poems have appeared in journals and anthologies in Canada, USA and England including The Antigonish Review, The Adirondack Review, Outlook Springs, Third Wednesday, and Aesthetica. In 2015 she completed an MFA in Creative Writing and since then has been running a weekly poetry salon in her home in Barrie, ON. She was delighted when “Migrations,” a poem from a manuscript currently nearing completion, won recognition from the Scugog Arts Council last June. Her novella in verse, "why the telephone stopped ringing", was published by Piquant Press in 2019.

This poem won in the Adult category for poetry in the literary contest run by the Scugog Arts Council, 2019.

Dorothy has visited Cobourg and she has been a featured reader here several years ago, along with Johanna Skibsrud.
