Mary Ann Mulhern was born in St. Thomas, ON. She taught in St. Thomas, London and Windsor. She writes narrative poetry. Eight books of poetry have been published by Black Moss Press. Mary Ann was influenced by John B. Lee, Marty Gervais, Patrick Lane and the writing of Margaret Atwood.
Two books were short-listed for the Acorn-Plantos Award: “Touch the Dead“ and "When Angels Weep”. Mary Ann was interviewed by Mary Hynes, Tapestry, CBC radio. This interview was about her book “The Red Dress”. The book became a best-seller. Mary Ann’s most recent book, “The Midnight Moon Sings of Murder” tells the tragic tale of the Donnelly family of Lucan ON. A “pre-launch" was held at Windsor Yacht Club, Jan. 25. Mary Ann plans to read in Lucan once Covid has cleared or there is a vaccine. Since April 2019, Mary Ann Mulhern has been “Poet Laureate of Windsor.”
