About the Poet: Pat Skene

This is an excerpt from Pat Skene’s children’s book, What a Hippopota-Mess!

Pat lived in Cobourg for ten years and it was during that time this book was published. Pat also wrote a column in the Cobourg Daily Star, called Rhyme Stones for Kids. This poem appeared in November 2004. You can find her reading some of her stories on the Orca Book Publishers’ YouTube channel. Today, Pat keeps her imagination fed and watered in Oakville, Ontario.
