Professor Fierro gave an inspiring masterclass about women in STEM after her lecture on Astronomy in Mesoamerica. For more on the event click here. Congratulations to Eithne McCabe on a successful event. WITS presented Professor Fierro with a copy of Lab Coats and Lace; she was delighted having read a review in Scientific American.

WITS Statement on Marriage Equality
WITS respects that there may be a range of views among members on the issue of Marriage Equality, and that individuals are entitled to hold and voice differing opinions and views. WITS encourages all members to exercise their right to vote on an important issue.
Coding Grace is co-founded by Vicky Twomey-Lee. They run female-friendly coding workshops in a safe and friendly environment for people who are curious and want to learn about technology. Coding Grace encourages diversity in its mentors who volunteer on their own time to share their knowledge and expertise, and are from the industry. The May Coding Grace newsletter is here.
Vicky Twomey-Lee is a coder, and nowadays can be found running tech events and workshops especially ones that advocate diversity in tech. She enjoys bringing like-minded people together and being part of the grass-root communities in Dublin.
