Free Faculty Training: Rise UpHow Faculty Can Respond to the Challenges of Our Time

With our planet in crisis and communities being impacted by growing challenges, higher education is called to action to take the lead in helping to prepare students to address two of the world’s most pressing social issues: Climate Change and Food Insecurity.  To help prepare faculty for this vital role, Maine Campus Compact is offering a free one-week virtual course with three live sessionsJune 6, 7 and 9th from 2-4pmstemming from Maine Campus Compact's Campuses for Environmental Stewardship (CES) program. This course will bring together faculty participants to consider ways to implement community-engaged teaching/learning while addressing many critical topics.


Climate Action Fellows Opportunity at USM

Maine Campus Compact (MCC), a department of the University of Southern Maine,  is seeking to fill two (2) MCC Climate Action Fellow positions by June 1, 2022.  The 2 MCC Fellows will provide support for MCC’s new Maine Campuses Won’t Wait (MCWW) Climate Action Initiative.  The MCC Fellows will help raise awareness about climate change and energy efficiency,  recruit and organize volunteers and events, and mobilize students and campuses for climate action. Applicants must be USM undergraduate or graduate students or a graduate of USM.

Maine Students Vote Fellows Program


 
Maine Students Vote Fellows Program (MSV) is now accepting applications! Any currently enrolled college student is welcome to apply! MSV Fellows organize civic action teams on their campus and help their peers register to vote, create a voting plan, obtain nonpartisan voting information, and cast their ballots on or before Election Day. Fellows are a part of a statewide network of non-partisan civic leaders that are working to engage other young people and build stronger communities. Positions start in the spring of 2022.
