September is Love Your Library month!

C.C. Mellor Memorial Library is so much more than a place to check out books. It’s a place where our community can connect, grow, learn and thrive.

Every September we celebrate that with Love Your Library month, and this year we're more excited than ever about some of the things we have happening.

As of Sept. 1, we now have expanded hours at our Edgewood branch. Our in-person programming is also returning. We're bringing back some of our favorite kids' programs, including Makerspace Mondays, Homeschool Book Club and Crazy 8s Math Club, as well as continuing our Storytime in the Park and Story Strolls through the fall.

We're also incredibly excited about the new program we recently launched to put public library cards in the hands of every student in the Woodland Hills School District.

For adults, we've also got some fun stuff planned for the fall. Register now for our Catch the Secret Agent breakout box activity -- work together to investigate clues and solve puzzles, similar to an escape room -- and get ready to join our brand new Journaling Group beginning in October.

You make this all possible.

This month, your generous financial contributions to C.C. Mellor will go even further. Thanks to the Jack Buncher Foundation we'll get a pro-rated portion of a $200,000 match pool.

Will you make a donation today?
As of Sept. 1 we now require face coverings at both Edgewood and Forest Hills.

Complimentary masks are available at the desk at both locations.

Investigate clues and solve puzzles in this fun breakout box game!

During the 1950s, America was beginning its exploration into espionage as it dealt with turmoil from all over the world. American spies were tasked with not only gathering top secret information from other countries but sharing key information about the U.S. in exchange for valuable information.

A rogue U.S. spy, G. McFly, decided that he wanted nothing else to do with the spy game and decided to start sharing top secret information with informants all over the world in an attempt to compromise the United States spy program as well as the head of the FBI, one J. Edgar Hoover.

Contained within the box is the current hiding location of G. Mcfly... Can you find him before he shares more information with another foreign spy?

*This program will take place outside of our Edgewood library, weather permitting. We will move indoors if necessary. Space is limited.

Have you always wanted to keep a journal, but had a hard time staying consistent? You’re not the only one!
Beginning in October, join our new journaling club to try out fun prompts and practice new styles. We’ll meet at 6:30 p.m. on the second and fourth Tuesdays on Zoom.
