Welcome and 6th SFN Symposium Wrap-up

The SFN team and Robin Perutz would like to thank everyone who came along to the 6th SFN Symposium in March. The high quality of the presentations and lively interactions made it into a very enjoyable and inspirational few days of solar fuels science! We have attached a few photos from the day, including all the poster and talk prize winners!

We are also pleased to announce the 7th SFN Symposium in 2019 will be held in Cambridge on 28-29th March, after the RSC Faraday Discussions (Artificial Photosynthesis). Please see below for some upcoming events and newly available research positions.

Artificial Photosynthesis Faraday Discussion

25 - 27 March 2019, Cambridge, United Kingdom

Speakers have been confirmed for the next solar fuels-related Faraday Discussion meeting. Deadline for oral abstracts is on the 9th of July so make sure to submit by then!

Doppler Symposium and 7th UK SFN Symposium

27-29 March 2019, University of Cambridge
Chaired by Prof Erwin Reisner

The Faraday Discussion meeting will be immediately followed by the Doppler Symposium on the afternoon of 27th, and the 7th UK SFN Symposium on the 28th and 29th March 2019.

Postdoc Position at NUI Galway

Applications are invited from suitably qualified candidates for a full-time, fixed term position as a Postdoctoral Researcher within the School of Chemistry/ChemLight group at the National University of Ireland, Galway. More information can be found HERE.

Postdoc Position at The University of Cambridge 

Applications are invited for a post-doctoral research associate to join Dr Jenny Zhang at the Department of Chemistry on a project aimed at developing 3D electrode scaffolds for biocatalysis using 3D-printing techniques. Further information can be found clicking HERE.

Master's Degree at a French Institution

Funding is available for a one or two years of study toward a master's degree at a French institution of higher education. In this context, Dr Sylvie Chardon ( would be able to welcome a student in her group for the master internship (more info about the masters click HERE).
