Aaron & Marcos
Team Updates
We're excited to announce that Aaron Goldman and Marcos Montanez are now Production Manager and Production Coordinator, respectively. In addition to ongoing playthroughs and light QA, the Production team is covering all in-game production as well – such as footage capture for trailers, screenshot and GIF creation for social media, gameplay walkthroughs, and game development consulting.

We'd also like to give a "shout out" to trusty team members Julie Morley, Summer Nguyen, Vanessa Marie, Brad Crespo, Bryan Heraghty, Nile Koegel, Kat De Shields, and Cody LaVelle.

And a special thanks to our Friends of Novy:
Pete Markiewicz, Alan Katana, Adam Godoi, M. Joshua Cauller, Aaron "Heatbox" Heaton, Rob LeFebvre, Evan Killham, Jennifer Allen, Nina Klymenko, George Menjin, Charlie Skinner, David Ladyman, Chris Parsons, Yuriy Golikov, Tim Engstrom, Richard James Cook, Ryan Byl, Anthony Hansen, Brianna Taeuber – and newest FoNs Michael Hunter, Joe Walz, Sandra Yee, Kevin Abernathy, Kamela Dolinova, Joanna Nelius, and Dennis Hogan
New Arrivals
Since our last newsletter, we've welcomed two new additions to our core team: Brittany Vincent and Shane Rambaran!

Brittany has been covering games, anime, tech, and entertainment for more than a decade at publications such as G4, Playboy, Complex, IGN, GamesRadar, Kotaku, Maxim, GameSpot, Shacknews, and Gamasutra. When she’s not writing or gaming, she’s looking for the next great visual novel in the vein of Saya no Uta. Brittany is a retro gaming enthusiast and is always seeking out forgotten and niche titles to dig into and enjoy. Some of her favorite games of all time include Parasite Eve, Eastern Mind: The Lost Souls of Tong-Nou, No One Lives Forever, Rise of the Triad, Space Channel 5, System Shock 2, Day of the Tentacle, Rez, and Um Jammer Lammy.

Shane was born and raised in California and is the oldest of 5 siblings. He loves games, basketball (he’s a die hard Lakers fan), and eating tasty food! Professionally, Shane has worked for nearly six years as a game QA tester at Konami, Treyarch, and Digital Hearts – and he also recently got his real estate license. A fun goal of his is to one day sit courtside at a Lakers game!
Paladins (Novy Stream Team)
Streaming Against the Current
The Novy Stream continues going strong - regularly streaming client and non-client games on the Novy Twitch channel – hosted by Marcos Montanez and Vanessa Marie, and produced by Aaron Goldman and Vanessa Marie. Streams so far this year include Minecraft, PUBG, Life is Strange: Before the Storm, Livelock, Paladins Mario + Rabbids Kingdom Battle, Crash Bandicoot N. Sane Trilogy, Resident Evil 7's "End of Zoe" DLC, Shovel Knight, Wulverblade, Super Mario World, Mega Man X, Donkey Kong Country, Super Metroid, The Legend of Zelda: A Link to the Past, Horizon Zero Dawn: The Frozen Wilds, Shadow of the Colossus, and Outbreak: The New Nightmare. Check the Novy Twitch channel for live streams on Tuesdays and Wednesdays. To catch up on the fun, view archived streams on our YouTube channel.
We're proud to announce the Novy Streamer Network (NSN) – a place to connect with streamers who play games developed and published by Novy Unlimited clients. If you're a YouTube, Twitch or Mixer streamer, join us on Discord! Kudos to Vanessa Marie for coming up with this brilliant idea. Vanessa is being joined by Aaron Goldman to moderate the NSN Discord server.
Bouncy Smash
Bouncing Into the Spotlight
A Bit Awards nominee ("Best Mobile Game") and featured title on the App Store ("Best New Games"), Bouncy Smash was also one of only four games selected for the PAX East Indie Showcase. We're proud to present guest blogger Austin Harrison (Relationship Director at IV Studio), who shares the team's experiences at the conference:

Game conferences are crazy. By the time attendees arrive, the expo hall is a wonderland of lights, sounds, creatures, and technology. It's incredible and amazing ... but temporary. When we arrived, PAX East was a giant mess. Crates, plastic wrap, and debris were everywhere. We'd attended TwitchCon at the end of last year, so that was familiar. What wasn't familiar was the amount of brand coverage and the amazing mix between two of my favorite things: Board Games and Video Games. It may have been messy, but we were in our version of a giant candy shop.

Into the Wild
Snail Games hosted industry thought leaders, media outlets, and VIPs at Jillian’s San Francisco to celebrate the global launch of ARK Park on SteamVR, PSVR, Oculus Rift, Viveport, and Windows MR. The event put the spotlight on the future of the popular ARK franchise with its first VR release, ARK Park.
"ARK Park Makes Dreams Come True"
While ARK Park was in development, the team in charge received a very special request: A father from Eastbourne, UK – Craig Proctor – asked for a pre-release copy of the game to share with his autistic son, Jason (who happens to adore dinosaurs). Craig believed that being able to walk among those majestic creatures would lift Jason’s spirits and give him a whole new perspective on life. Snail Games was happy to oblige … and the result is captured in the video,ARK Park Makes Dreams Come True.” (read more)

Brad & Marcos
GDC 2018

Several members of the Novy team (Jeannie, Luis, Aaron, Marcos, Vanessa, Brad, Summer, and Nile) had a blast splitting their time between Game Connection America (GCA) and the show floor at the Game Developers Conference (GDC) working with Snail Games on the global launch event for ARK Park at Jillian's (just around the corner from Moscone) and with ICEX (which hosted a number of developers at GCA for the 'Games from Spain' initiative). We managed to squeeze in a combo team dinner/birthday celebration for Novy co-founder Jeannie Novak – and we even checked out Black Panther at the Metreon to unwind. (read more)
