St Patrick's Celebration! - Wednesday, March 17th

We are celebrating St Patrick's Day this year and we are celebrating the fact that we are open!!!!  So come on down. Richard will be serving up corned beef cooked to perfection served with tender cabbage, potatoes, and carrots that would please any Irishman. 

We will have karaoke with Doug in the Freedom Hall and Open Mic in the Liberty Hall, there will be beads for everyone and a good time will be had by all I am sure. Let's come together this year and celebrate that we are OPEN!

Legion Dinner - Friday, March 19th 

Come on up on Friday for the Legion dinner. Terry and crew will be in the kitchen serving up Country Fried Steak with mashed potatoes, green beans, and a roll for only $8.00. 

They will also have fish available for those of you that are not having meat on Fridays. 
Remember folks we have trivia twice a week! We have Fast Jax Trivia host on Monday nights in the Freedom Hall and we call our own trivia in the Liberty Hall on Thursday nights. 

We are excited the Liberty Hall is open that we are doing trivia again so to kick it off right we are going to be giving you one free answer!

Watch this email every week for your free answer to our Thursday night games. So be sure to come on out on Thursdays Nights. Game starts at 7 pm. This week's free answer is for the half time question.

Join us on Friday, March 19th for live entertainment by the Backtracks. They played here a few years back and you all loved them so be sure to come on up and check them out. 
Karaoke with Doug in the Liberty Hall this Friday

Liberty Hall is open and we are excited that karaoke is being held every Friday nights and hope you are too! Doug will be here this Friday so be sure to come on up, you will be happy you did. 
Saturday, Mar 30th
Come on out this Saturday for the Mama Lisa's food truck. They serve up fabulous homemade pasta that you will all love, so be sure to come up hungry. 

I've talked to this truck and they have confirmed that they will be here. I apologize again about not having a food truck last week it was my fault. I promise you I will do everything in my power to make sure that does not happen again. 
Tickets for the Queen of Diamonds raffle are now available for sale on Monday, Wednesday and Friday this week from 6 pm to 7 pm as well as on Saturdays.

Remember you do not have to be here to win. If you are not going to be here for the raffle there are a few changes you need to be aware of. At the time of purchase you will need to show your Legion card, you will also have to provide us with your phone number and the ticket you want drawn. 

This week both halls will be open so we will have plenty of room for everyone. So plan on coming up on Saturday night so you can be here when your ticket is drawn! 
Queen Raffle Rules
Liberty Hall will be open on Saturday! So plan on coming in for the Queen of Diamonds drawing so you can be here when your ticket is drawn.
March Raffle Basket
This month the Cabane is raffling off their Spring Fling Basket. Basket includes a picnic basket with dishes, beach towel, wine, candle, napkins, candy and a $100 Publix gift card. See any cabane member for tickets.

We are hiring a new bartender for a couple of daytime shifts in the smoking hall.  If you or someone you know is interested please either email Brandi or stop by the post and fill out an application. 
Saturday, March 27th 
Mark Your Calendars and Plan on Joining in to Support the Cause! 

Come out to Jacksonville Beach join The American Legion 5th District and our community for a walk, party and a day of camaraderie to help stop Post Traumatic Stress (PTS) Suicide of Veterans. 

The goal is to have a great time, while raising awareness to a tragic epidemic of 22 suicides per day due to PTS, while helping us fund solutions that are working. We are asking everyone to register to walk for $22 to honor the 22 lives that are taken every day due to veteran suicide.

Registration & sign-in will begin at 10:00 am. The opening ceremony will start at 10:30am, followed by the 2.2 mile walk on the beach. The walk will start at the Pavilion Lawn and will walk south on the beach to Oceanfront Park and back. 

Immediately after the walk, we will have a day of fun, with music, food, vendors, guest speakers, and so much more. More activities and fun will be had at American Legion Post 129 after the event.

We are getting some fabulous trucks lined up for us on Saturday evenings. If the food trucks on Saturdays is something you enjoy be sure to come on out to show your support.

Rummage Sale - April 9th and 10th

Mark your calendars for the Cabane rummage sale on April 9th and 10th. They will be of course looking for donations for the sale. Those donations can be dropped off April 2nd to 7th. Please let any Cabane member know if you have any questions.

We are happy to inform you that the full Post 129 staff was tested on Tuesday, March 9th for Covid-19 and all test came back negative. All staff will be tested again on Tuesday, March 23rd we will keep you posted on the the results.
