American Legion Post 129
July 1st, 2014 to July 7th, 2014
Daytime
Dave will be cooking up a fabulous lunch from 11am to 3pm. All blood donors eat for free.  Bingo will be held at 2pm but with some extra holiday fun thrown in! This will not be a day you want to miss!!

Evening
Plan on joining us for our annual 4th of July BBQ! This year the SAL will be cooking up Baby Back Ribs served with baked beans, potato salad, and garlic toast. Our BBQ will start at 5pm. 

Group Therapy will to entertain you from 530pm to 930pm and steak bingo will be held at 630pm as usual. Why fight the crowds at the beach for parking when you can come to the Post, relax, and have a great view of the fireworks show! We will set up tables outside for viewing.
Every minute of every day, someone needs blood.  That blood can only come from a volunteer donor, a person like you who makes the  choice to donate. There is no substitute for your donation. Donating blood is a  simple thing to do, but can make a big difference in the lives of others. 

The Blood Mobile will be at the Post on July  4th  from 11-3.  Sign up at  the Post or on line at ww.thebloodalliance.com. Thanks!

We have Saturday 9-Hole Golf and now we have Tuesday 9-Hole Golf at Jacksonville Beach Golf Club.


Join us for our new Tuesday morning 9 hole golf league.  Fees are great for the seniors (65 & up) 9 holes, $14.26 with cart or walk  for $6.21, Non seniors will pay $20.96 with cart or walk for $12.89.

Join us for the first official meeting with our new officers! Auxiliary meeting is held at 7pm, General meeting is held at 730pm.
The Auxiliary will hold their annual  fundraiser Christmas in July on Friday, July 11th.   They will be serving a traditional Christmas dinner with Turkey and Ham plus all the fixings! The band the Back Tracks will be here to entertain you all night long, and steak bingo will be help at 630pm as usual! They will also have a silent auction! This promises to be a great night. Mark your calendars so you don't miss all the fun! 

Attention Auxiliary members your help is needed to make this event a success! We need you to build a basket for the silent auction! You don’t have to do it on your own, grab some friends and make it fun! Give you basket a theme and a name. Make a list of what is in the basket and an approximate cost. This will be placed in the basket where it can be seen. Place the basket in the auxiliary room or give it to Mary Ellen by July 6th. If you need help or goodies for your basket ask Mary Ellen as she has some leftovers from the last fundraiser. Thank you in advance for your help!
Join us on Sunday, July 13th for a group excursion to check out the NEW casino cruise boat out of Mayport. We have been offered a special rate of $36 per person which includes private charter bus to and from the Port, Boarding, Buffett, $20 in match play, Live Entertainment, FREE drinks while playing, plus two free drinks coupons for use while not gaming!!!

company by July 7th so please if interested make sure you get with the canteen staff as soon as possible to be added to the manifest. 

You MUST be signed up and PAID by June 6th to join us on the Casino Cruise.

Terry's Kitchen Open for
Dinner Starting at 530pm

Terry Stickles, the 2nd Vice for the Legion, runs a full regular menu Tuesdays, Wednesdays, and Thursdays plus a $6 dinner special that changes daily. Check with the kitchen to see what he has on special.

Saturday, July 5th - Bike Night
Join us for the monthly ALR Bike Night! The ALR will be cooking up dinner and will have virtual shooting range! Stop on by and join in on the fun!

Sunday, July 6th
The Breakfast crew will be hard at work serving you up fantastic meal from 9am to noon. 

On July 19th we are holding a fundraiser to raise funds for our toy  drive for Wolfsons Children’s Hospital. We start the day with a hat sale in the back hall from 2pm to 6pm. So what that means is we need your help! Or more accurately we need your hats! Go through those closets and boxes and bring in any hats you don’t want anymore. Then come out on July 19th and see what you may find! 
 
Then at 6pm on Saturday, July 19th we will continue the fun with a Luau! We are still currently in the planning stages so I do not have details for you but I can tell you we are truly trying to make sure this is a special night! Watch our website for more information and make sure you mark your calendars this is going to be a night you will not want to miss!
