March 8th to March 14th

Friday, March 11th - This Friday!!!
In honor of St Patrick’s Day this Friday’s meal will be cooked by the owner of Flies Ties Irish Pub, Ralph Tiernan. Chef Tiernan went to Ballymaloe Cookery School in Cork County Ireland and studied under Darina Allen, the Martha Stewart of Ireland.

Sunday, March 13th
The Spring American Legion Softball League starts March 20, 2016. The schedule is currently being made this week. Since there is less than two weeks until the season begins we have reserved a Field for our Team to Practice.

If you're interested in playing on our Post 129 Softball Team, please be at our 2nd Practice this Sunday March 13, 1000-1200 PM at our Park Wingate off of Beach Blvd and Penman Rd.

Thursday, March 17th
Join us next Thursday for our St Patrick's Day celebration! Terry will be cooking up a traditional Irish meal of Corn Beef served with a mustard sauce, parsley boiled potatoes, cabbage, buttered carrots, and soda bread for only $8.00 donation.

After dinner see if the luck of the Irish is with you try your hand at either our poker tables or our dice game. Dice starts at 6 pm, Poker at 7 pm.

We are thinking about putting together a group outing this year to a Jacksonville Suns Baseball game. Please let me know if you would be interested and what your thoughts are on seats. Cost for the event would be $20 per person and would include your seat at the game and transportation to and from the Post.

You’re invited to our open house pancake breakfast. This is a good opportunity to bring new members or potential members to the Post so they can see what we are all about.

We are trying to plan our annual Memorial Day crawl which will be held on Sunday, May 29th, but we need your help. In past years we have toured local beach bars. The question I need answered is do you want to do local beach bars such as Pete's and Lynch's or do you want to do another Post crawl where we visit the other Legions in town. Please let me know. Your opinion matters!

Join us on Thursday evenings for our new bar game!!! Due to this week's meetings. The game will be begin at 7 pm.

Wednesday nights we will be hosting Live Bands like we do on Friday nights. We will be bringing is new bands and a few old favorites to entertain you! So be sure to stop on by and check it out.

The Duval Co. School Board's "Instruments for Education" program is back. Hopefully we can do some good as we will try to get the Beaches Community to help support our effort. Instruments and checks made out to Duval Co. School Board with Instruments for Education placed in the memo section would be welcomed. Let's help the future generations discover the magic of music. The SAL has done it again! March's SAL meal is being brought to you in part by Fly's Tie Irish Pub of Atlantic Beach. They will be sending over an true culinary trained Irish chef to prepare a gourmet meal just for you!

Yes there will be breakfast this Sunday! John will be in the kitchen cooking up his famous corn beef hash!

Please join us in our American Legion Post 129 Saturday golf. It is a nine hole captains choice/best ball theme. We now have over 40 players signed up to play on Saturday Mornings. We would love to have you join us.
