Sibling Enrollment

If you have a child currently enrolled at Cottonwood, and another you would like to get enrolled for the '23-'24 school year, you must apply for positions via the lottery application by April 3rd. This includes incoming kindergarteners. While sibling status does move prospective new students to the top of the line, the lottery application must be filled out for ALL new students.

Sewer Construction Project on S Bancroft

Beginning during spring break, the stretch of S Bancroft in front of the school will be limited to a single one-way lane. Cottonwood has been in direct communication with the project lead and this is what we have been told: S Bancroft will stay open flowing east, but you will have to exit out of the South Waterfront via Bond to S Gaines to head north. It is posted as a 2 month project, but they are hopeful it will be completed in 4 weeks.

We would like to take this opportunity to encourage more drop-off and pick-up on the south side of our building.

DROP OFF LOCATION: We always have staff positioned on the south side of our building assisting a drop off line. Staff will be in front of the River Forum 1 Building (marked with a red X on map). Staff will be on the east side of the street and along the bike path. To access this you can turn east off of Macadam onto S Boundary Street (#1 on map) or SW Hamilton Ct. (#2 on map). From either road, take your first left and head north towards school (S. Landing Drive to S. Moody Ave.) Before Moody takes a sharp left turn up to Macadam you will see staff ready to assist getting kids out of cars. This loop will bring you back up to Macadam on Moody (#3 on map) without a traffic light. It will be easier to turn right and head North, but we have driven it multiple times at 8:10 and found it fairly easy to cross and head South on Macadam. We would like to keep this loop flowing in one direction for student safety, so please avoid turning on to this street and instead use the access points marked 1 or 2 on the map.

Students will then walk on the bike path to school. Please remind them to walk on the right side of the bike path to allow bikes to pass and stay alert. We have spent a lot of time walking this path at this time of day and have seen 0-3 bikes on any given day.

Another option might be to use the turn around at the (closed) Rosswood Restaurant (adjacent to Cottonwood Bay & an easy walk to school on the Willamette Greenway bike path).

Pick-up is a little more complicated than drop-off, but we will have staff stationed south of the building then as well.
