HOW MANY JOBS WILL THE BDCP CREATE?

The BDCP is estimated to result in the creation and protection of more than one million full-time equivalent jobs over the project’s 50-year implementation period. (A full-time equivalent job is defined as one person working full-time for one year.) Construction and operation of the proposed water facilities and habitat restoration projects would create an estimated 155,090 jobs in the Sacramento-San Joaquin Delta region. In addition, reliable water supplies gained through BDCP implementation will protect and save an estimated 980,722 statewide jobs. The BDCP Job Creation and Protection InfoGraphic provides more information on the number and types of jobs expected as a result of construction.
