Did you know?

The Artisans Centre Peterborough could be just the beginning of a much bigger home for artists of all kinds.  Currently the organization is made up of the Gourders, Weavers and Spinners, Woodturners and Potters and shares space with the Creating Space group.  Talks continue with respect to becoming part of an even larger artist community.  Other cities have creativity centres, why not Peterborough?  For example, Kingston has the Tett Centre for Creativity and Learning.

This centre, a beautiful, heritage building on the shores of Lake Ontario is a charitable organization that is home to a number of arts organizations and also offers a Rehearsal Hall, Activity Rooms and a Cafe.  Just think what we could do with a facility like that here in Peterborough.

Member Inspiration
While classes are on hold, you can still get inspiration from Guild members.

Covid precautions keep our classes on hold, but we'll expect to be back in full swing in September with safety protocols in place.
Please watch the Website for Updates.

Gourd Art Studio Time and Classes

Visit artisanscentre.ca for details and to register online when it is safe to do so.

WAX RESIST TECHNIQUE on GOURD

This is a great project for someone who doesn’t work with gourds but would like to try. The technique can be used on other surfaces as well. Learn to use a Kiska pen similar to a Pysanki pen to make wax resist designs on gourd. Wax resist is best for line or silhouette designs. You will choose your own colour of dye or stain. The wax will provide the final finish on the gourd.

Watch for this when we return in the fall.

Please keep an eye on the Website for dates and registration details.
