In Loving Memory of David Grecco
We were so sad to learn that one of our longtime employment enclave members passed unexpectedly this month.  David Grecco was only 34 years old. He loved attending The Arc's dances. David was a calm, quiet and kind young man; he was admired by his peers for his strong work ethic. David came to our programs in 2010 and  immediately went to work at our former work site enclave program at Southwest Florida Water Management District (SWFWMD). David later went to work at our Wal-Mart Distribution work site and remained employed there until he became ill earlier this month. David will be sorely missed!
At The Arc Nature Coast, we truly believe that “Everybody can be great, because anybody can serve”. – Martin Luther King, Jr.
This upcoming Martin Luther King, Jr. Day of Service, our chapter will be serving our local community through a grant by the Corporation for National and Community Service (CNCS). We are partnering with several local churches and food banks in Hernando and Pasco Counties to provide fresh fruits and vegetables to people in need. We are looking to partner with individuals, service clubs, etc. to join us in making a difference! Make it a day on, not a day off! Will you join us in making a difference? Contact us if you would like to get involved. To find opportunities in your area, contact us at The Arc Nature Coast or visit nationalservice.gov/mlkday.

The Hernando County Sheriff's Office COPPS (Community Oriented Policing & Problem Solving) and School Resource Deputies visited our Neff Lake Enrichment Campus this month for  'Lunch with a Cop'. The officers divided up and enjoyed lunch with our more than 40 participants in the life Skills Development Program. We truly enjoyed interacting with them-come back and see us again soon!
Fun at the Holiday Open House!
Each year, we host a Holiday Open House and invite those we serve, families, volunteers, supporters and the general public to attend. We were fortunate to have many special guests at this year's Open House.
  • We'd like to thank CInda Lillibridge from the Hernando County Sheriff's Office for making sure Santa arrived safe and sound. Everyone was delighted to see him and appreciated their gifts.
  •  Thank you to the McGuire Family, who donated six 35 pound turkeys for our lunch!  We are grateful for the wonderful group of volunteers from the Christian Church in the Wildwood; they prepared and served all the food to staff and guests.   It was so nice that direct care staff were able to sit down, enjoy a meal and be served.
  • We were happy to also have Maurice and Tina Ryman of Marker 48 Brewing there as our guests, so that we could present them with a handmade thank you card and a plaque to show our appreciation for all their charitable contributions from Tap for a Cause, Oktoberfest and the Haunted House. they held at their brewery in October.
  • Members of our Neff Lake Enrichment Program saved up their money from the recycling program they participate in and donated $180.00 towards our campaign to construct a new Life Skills Center at Neff Lake.
  • Cain McEnerney, an 8th grade student at Gulf Coast Academy presented Mark Barry with $500.00 from a Scavenger Hunt fundraiser that he and his family put on in November. The Scavenger Hunt was Cain's fundraising project for a Pay it Forward Project at his school.
What a great open house is was.
We'd like to thank all the staff who put this event together.
You are appreciated!

Holiday Wishes Do Come True!
We are so thankful for the folks at Alumi-Guard/Barrett Outdoor Living. Alumi-Guard has been a location of one of our work sites since 2008, employing approximately 16 individuals served by The Arc Nature Coast. They host a wonderful Holiday party for their employees and this year, they invited us to attend. After a delicious lunch was enjoyed and many prizes and gift cards were won, Chip Howison, Vice President of Production presented Mark Barry with a check for $2,000.00! We are so grateful for your support and appreciate that you continue to provide quality employment for those we serve!
