We had some rain in the Oley Valley the past two days, more than two inches. Good news. The Mannny hit 80 degrees earlier this week. It now back down in the low 70's. The springs received a good charge of water, and everything back to normal. Still too warm to fish for trout. More rain is forecasted tonight (thunderstorms). It's a start. In central PA, Spring Creek is running at a normal level. The rain is spotty everywhere because they are thunderstorms. I would check the water level and temperatures before fishing for trout anywhere.
August is coming, and it is SMALLMOUTH time. Brian has a few dates open on the lower Juniata and Susquehanna. Dave Allbaugh has dates open on the upper Juniata (Huntington area). Bill Nolan is available for smallmouth on the Lehigh River. Trout fishing has shut down on the Lehigh until fall.
